I am Tiao Xie, a vocalist, music educator, and researcher at the University of South Florida, where I have been teaching and conducting research since 2022.

Trained in both Chinese and American vocal traditions since the age of six, I perform across multiple musical styles, specializing in popular music, world music, and opera.

I have been recognized with vocal performance awards from nationally televised competitions in China and from academic institutions in the United States.

My performance experience spans Finland, Italy, South Africa, China, and the United States, where I have appeared as a soloist in diverse world-music and cross-cultural settings.

I have shared my research through guest lectures and conference presentations across Asia, Europe, and North America.

My research interests include voice study, popular music, world music, modern band, improvisation, songwriting, spirituality, and the philosophy of music education.

I enjoy sharing my experiences and insights with students and fellow educators to inspire growth, creativity, and a deeper appreciation of music learning.
